Message of the Week

The Altar of Your Heart

In Biblical history we find many accounts of people building altars to the Lord to offer Him sacrifices. One of the main purposes was to give-up something of importance/value to demonstrate commitment to the Lord or atone for sin.

Today, because of Jesus' ultimate sacrifice on the cross on our behalf, no other sacrifice is necessary. However, we ought to have an altar within each of us.

Think of it symbolically as an altar within our hearts in which we genuinely decide to give God our best. The altar of our heart is that place within our thoughts, feelings, and intentions where we choose to seek our God.

Place your thanks and needs on the altar of your heart. God's wonderfulJust for Me - The Book response will eventually overflow your life and situation.

2 Samuel 24: 25 - David built an altar …Then the LORD answered the prayer in behalf of the land, and the plague on Israel was stopped.

Still Striving

Often we get discouraged with ourselves, because we haven't arrived yet or find ourselves bothered by things that need to be changed within us.

It is in these times that we can remember what Paul wrote  in Philippians 1:6 - Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.

STRIVING TO BE PATIENT WITH OURSELVES AS WE ARE BEING TRANSFORMED INTO GOD'S IMAGE.
