Silent Night?

Our youngest son, Devin, made an observation a couple days ago concerning the Christmas Carole "Silent Night" He said "REALLY??!! A silent night" This was his point for such an emphatic remark. Certainly Jesus brings a peace to the earth in the fact that His coming began the journey toward redeeming man from his sin. However, that night was anything but silent. Mary was a teenage girl who had never experienced birthing a child (have you ever been to a hospital maternity ward?) Need I say more? Mary and Joseph were led to a stable area housing several animals. Again, not always a quiet setting. The reason Mary and Joseph set up their birthing room in the back of the Inn was due to an overcrowded Hotel. (How many times have you called the front desk asking them to quiet the noise coming from room number...? To top it all off, the people would have been demanding that the homeless vagabond people and their crying baby be silenced at once...obviously making much more noise with their complaining adding to a very much NOT silent night...Not much has changed in 2000 years. Jesus is still causing a clatter wherever He is presented. Room for Him is allocated to a place just in back of the spirit of the world. A tirade of noise rises from those who are annoyed by Jesus and scream "would somebody please shut up Baby Jesus" Amazing things happened the night He was born...Shepherds were redirected, the heavens realigned, magistrates humbled, Kings threatened, etc...
No one can really deny that the "Holy Night" changed everything...He made eternal difference...It was a "Holy Night", but NOT a "Silent Night"
Discipleship in Jesus makes us Holy, but not Silent...Go ye therefore and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit...and remember I will be with you always (making as much noise as possible) Stay loud!!!

Bringing in His Kingdom,

Your Great Strength

The towering presence of the Redwood Trees is awe inspiring. Although they can stand 300 feet tall, we only see a third of their mass.

What we don't see is their true foundation: a massive root system of thousands of underground, intertwining branches.

Not only is each tree strong because of the root system, the entire forest is strengthened - withstanding fire, wind and earthquake.

You are like the redwood when you allow the Word of God to penetrate your mind.

Luke 6: 47, 48 - I will show you what everyone is like who comes to me, hears my words, and acts on them. He is like a person building a house, who dug a deep hole to lay the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the floodwaters pushed against that house but couldn't shake it, because it had been founded on the rock
